PROPOSALS DUE JUNE 16th First Responder UAS 3D Mapping Challenge Launched on April 18, 2023, by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Public Safety Communications Research (PSCR) Division, the First Responder Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (UAS) 3D Mapping Challenge (UAS 5.0) is offering up to $987,500 in prize awards for contestants who successfully design, build, and operate a cost-effective UAS solution that enhances situational awareness and image detection for forest responders prior to entering a building. Specifically, winning solutions will leverage a technological mapping method, such as simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM), to provide an ac curate, high-quality 3D map in real-time for locating missing person(s) and life-threatening obstacles in an indoor, low-light, GPS-denied, or otherwise constrained environment. INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY Apply to be an i ntern engineer in Marvell's Post-Silicon Validation group here in Boise.  Marvell is  responsible for proving that their cutting-edge chips function as designed after production but before they are released publicly. Every day is something new to learn and something new to stress. The ideal candidate would: - Like embedded work: SPI, I2C, eMMC, low-level stuff. If lighting up an LED on a new Arduino board sparks joy, this is for you. - Like programming, with experience in C and Python. - Like digging in to solve a problem. If they're not familiar with the subject matter, they're willing to learn about it.   interviewing urgently , with a start date of 6/20. Graduate College Events! - Updated

Graduate Student Showcase Registration Extended The Graduate College has extended the registration period for the Graduate Student Showcase by a week. Registration will now close on  March 17 at midnight . This year, we are offering separate in-person and virtual events. The virtual event is restricted to students enrolled in an online-only graduate program. All other students will participate in the live event in the Student Union. The same registration process is used for both events and is a two-step process. Register today to indicate your interest in participating!
