Hardware Design Electrical Engineer

Job Summary

A  hardware design-focused Electrical  Engineer with interest and experience in electronics design, including RF circuitry, high-speed digital,  EMI/EMC,  battery management, and power distribution. Experience with schematic capture and Printed Circuit Board (PCB) layout is key.  A self-motivated engineer looking to update existing designs with the creativity to generate novel products using standard, good design practices.

Responsibilities
  • Design, prototype, and test electronic assemblies and sub-assemblies for radar-based systems, 
  • FPGA-centric systems, and noise-sensitive acoustical circuits. Familiarity with both analog and digital design is required.
  • Generate electrical schematics for new designs and modify schematics for existing products, 
  • including simulation, as required.
  • Layout Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) for new designs and modify PCBs for existing products.
  • Participate in design reviews for products under development.
  • Assemble prototype systems and test to operating requirements.
  • Interface with Contract Manufacturing to build prototype and production assemblies.
  • Transition engineering designs into production by designing/building test fixtures and generating test procedures, work instructions, manuals and other related documentation.
  • Interface with electrical component suppliers.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Undergraduate (entry-level) applicants are welcome.
  • Bachelor’s degree (or greater) in Electrical Engineering.
  • 5 years of electronics design experience preferred.
  • 2 years of Printed Circuit Board design experience. Altium Designer software is preferred.
  • Experience with circuit simulation.
  • Experience with circuit board assembly and repair.
